Helen Morgan's home is on East 18th Street in Brooklyn, New York. The actress Helen Morgan began her career as a torch singer in Chicago speakeasies in the early 1920's. She went on to fame in the original Broadway productions of Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein's Showboat in 1927, and Sweet Adeline in 1929. She then appeared in the 1929 and 1936 film versions of Showboat. During her heyday in the 1920's and 1930's this house in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn was her home.
