The Brocklebank Apartments are located on Mason Street, atop Nob Hill, in San Francisco, California. The apartments were constructed in 1926 by the architectural firm of Weeks and Day. It was one of four structures the group built upon Nob Hill in the 1920's, the others being The Mark Hopkins, The Huntington Apartments, and The Cathedral Apartments. After completion of the apartment building Charles Weeks moved in with his wife. He would die in his apartment on March 25, 1928 after suffering from an unspecified nervous condition. In later years the building would double as the home of Madeleine Elster, played by Kim Novak, in Alfred Hitchcock's 1958 thriller Vertigo.
