John F. Kennedy's home is on Abbottsford Road in Brookline, Massachusetts. The home was purchased by Joseph P. Kennedy in 1920 and was the second home he lived in with his wife, Rose, and family. Their first home together is on Beals Street just a short distance away. It was there they lived from 1914 to 1920, raising four children, Joseph, Jr., John, Rosemary and Kathleen. Needing more space they moved to this larger home, where they would soon add Eunice, born 1921, Patricia, born 1924, and Robert, born 1925. Joseph Sr. joined Hayden, Stone and Co., a stock brokerage firm, in 1919. In 1923 he set up his own investment company and by 1929 he was worth 4 million dollars. With new business ventures at hand, including film production, he moved the family from Brookline in 1927 to The Bronx, New York.
