John Barrymore's home is on Cheyne Walk in London. The famed actor rented this home from December, 1924 to April, 1925. From 1922 to 1923 Barrymore starred in Hamlet on Broadway. The show had a record breaking 101 performances before it ended it's run. In 1924 he agreed to take the show to London and in November he set sail. His residence for the run of the show was here on the fashionable Cheyne Walk in Chelsea. Rehearsals began in January and the show opened on February 19, 1925 at the Haymarket Theatre, where it ran until April 18 to mostly favorable reviews. While in London Barrymore signed a contract with Warner Bros. and upon his return to the states he began focusing on his film career.
