34 Gramercy Park is an apartment building located across from Gramercy park in New York City. It was constructed in 1883 as the city's first cooperative. The Renaissance Revival style building is made of red brick and red terra cotta with brownstone trim. The word Gramercy can be seen carved above the front entrance. Over the years several well know people have occupied apartments in the building, including actress Margaret Hamilton and actor James Cagney, who is honored with a red plaque on the front of the building, noting that he lived here from 1965 to 1968.
