Babe Ruth Home - New York City

Babe Ruth's final home was this apartment on Riverside Drive in NYC. He lived here from 1942 until his death in 1948. He shared this 11th floor apartment on the Upper West Side with his wife, Claire, and spending much of his time doing charity work around the city. Babe died of throat cancer in August 1948 at the Sloan Kettering Hospital on 68th Street, while Claire continued to live in the apartment for the next 28 years, passing away in 1976. There is a plaque outside the building acknowledging Ruth's time spent here.
