The Bonnie and Clyde hideout house is on West 34th Street in Joplin, Mo. On April 1, 1933 the Barrow gang rented this two bedroom apartment, sitting atop a stone garage, at 3347 1/2 Oak Ridge Drive, in Joplin. The gang consisted of Clyde Barrow, Bonnie Parker, Clyde's brother, Buck Barrow, Buck's wife, Blanche Barrow, and W.D. Jones. The suspicions of the neighbors soon grew and the out of town strangers were reported to the local authorites. On the afternoon of April 13 the law came with warrants. A shoot-out occurred which left two officers dead, and Clyde, Buck and W.D. wounded. Among the items left behind when the gang made their escape was jewelry, clothes, Buck's car, marriage license and parole papers, and a camera with undeveloped film, which, when processed, gave authorites the best images of the gang they had to date.
