Joan Crawford's home in Kansas city is on Campbell Street at the site of the former Rockingham Academy. It was here the future actress lived and worked from 1919 to 1922. She had been born in San Antonio, Texas, then moved to Lawton, Oklahoma, and finally wound up in Kansas City. She was sent to St. Agnes Academy in 1916, shortly after the family relocated here, and then wound up at the Rockingham Academy. After her three years here, as a working student, she enrolled at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, where she shortly thereafter dropped out, ending her formal eduaction.
