The Stephen Hopkins house is located on Hopkins Street in Providence, Rhode Island. He was born in Providence on March 7, 1707 to a prominent Rhode Island family. He would go on to amass a large list of credentials, including ten time governor of Rhode Island, Chief Justice of the Superior Court, a member of the Colonial Congress and a signer of the Declaration of Independence. He lived in this house from 1843 to 1885. The house was moved to its present location in 1927.
