Belle Starr's home site is located near OK-71 and Younger Bend Trail in Porum, Oklahoma then Known as a haven for outlaws in the 1800's. Younger's Bend may have been named for Cole Younger, who spent time here in the early 1860's. It is more famously know as the home of outlaw Belle Starr and her husband, Sam Starr, who lived here during the 1880's. Belle was murdered near here on February 3, 1889. Her assailant was never captured. She was buried here, in front of her home, a log cabin which is long since gone. Her grave, however, remains, along a marked path a short distance through the woods.
