Patsy Cline's home is on South Kent Street in Winchester, Virginia. The future country superstar, still known as Virginia Hensley, lived here from 1948 to 1953. When her father abandoned the family, Patsy was forced to drop out of John Handley High and take a job a the nearby Triangle Diner. She also performed at variety shows, radio and nightclubs throughout this period, gaining a local following. She married Gerald Cline, a contractor, on March 7, 1953. The house was renovated and opened as a museum in 2011. It has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register. An historical marker also notes the location.
