The Thomas Wolfe Memorial is located on North Market Street in Asheville, North Carolina. The home was built in 1883 by Erwin E. Sluder a banker in Asheville, North Carolina. Julia Wolfe, the mother of Thomas Wolfe, purchased the house, known as "Old Kentucky Home," and maintained it as a boarding house. Thomas Wolfe lived here with his mother from the age of six until he was sixteen, when he went to the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
