John Paul Jones Home - Paris

John Paul Jones' home is on Rue de Tournon in Paris, France. The Scottish born naval hero lived his last days here.  After the Revolutionary War ended Jones found he was unemployed and set off for Russia, in the employ of Catherine the Great in her fight against the Turks.  His career in Russia cam to an end when he wasaccused of raping a twelve year old girl.  Afterwards, finding himself unemplyed again, he set off for Paris.  He arrived in the French capitol in 1790 and spent the last two years of his life here in retirement. He was found dead on July 18, 1792 here in his apartment on the Rue de Tournon. .
