Edith Hamilton's home is on Park Avenue in Baltimore, Maryland. The author and educator was born in Dresden, Germany in 1867. She spent several years going to school in Connecticut and Pennsylvania before returning to Germany where she was educted in Leipzig and Munich before accepting a teaching position at The Bryn Mawr Preparatory School For Girls in Baltimore in 1896. She remained as headmistress of the school until her retirement in 1922. She then spent her retirement years penning many books including The Greek Way in 1931 and Mythology in 1942. This house in the historic Bolton Hill section of Baltimore was her home during her stay at Bryn Mawr. There is a plaque marking the spot.
